Hello Friends!

I am so excited to get to know you, but first, I’ll let you get to know me!

Let’s start with….

FUN FACTS

I live in Tampa, Florida.

I am 29 years old.

I have a sweet Hubby & two goldendoods. (read more below)

I love sushi, green tea, any fruit ever, and a good green smoothie.

I am a huge lover of the outdoors, nature, and traveling.

I am a lover of the osteopathic route to caring for our bodies. (treating the whole body, not just the symptoms)

MY DIAGNOSES

I did my “tip-toe princess walk” all the way until age 12 when we found out it was actually a “limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A walk”.

My subtype of muscular dystrophy is caused by a mutation in the Calpain-3 gene. This is a progressive disorder where my muscles degrade over time. The doctors have told me that usually the degradation will plateau at a certain point, and I am hopeful that I am in that phase now!

I have been using a wheelchair since 2014 and no longer have the ability to stand or walk. Using a wheelchair is not something I was excited about doing, but when I started to, I was so happy, I had more energy, and I felt like I got my life back.

3 years ago I was diagnosed with anxiety….but after I figured out that waking up shaking wasn’t “normal” I realized that i’ve had anxiety since I was probably 15.

I have bouts of vertigo and possible hormonal issues, but those are currently undiagnosed and still being explored!

MY EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

I graduated with my bachelors of science degree from USF in 2019 (go bulls!).

I am a certified life coach, mindfulness coach, and meditation instructor!

I am a in school, graduating in December 2024 to become a mental health counselor from USF Rehabilitation & Mental Health Counseling Program!

NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

This is one of my accomplishments that is so close to my heart. I founded a non-profit organization called Wheely Big Dreams Inc.

This organization provides adaptive equipment to physically disabled individuals in need.

If you are disabled, or know anyone that is disabled, you probably know how much of a STRUGGLE it is to have medical equipment paid for through insurance, if they even cover it at all.

Wheely Big Dreams gives away devices like power assists, wheelchair vehicles, custom wheelchairs, adjustable beds, ect.

If you’d like to learn more, donate, or volunteer, I linked the website above!

MY FAMILY

My husband Michael and I got married on February 14, 2021 (yay for a pandemic wedding, lol). He is my biggest fan, the most amazing husband, and the most understanding caregiver.

We have two goldendoodles Honey & Lily and they are the sweetest, bounciest, cuddliest babies.

We live in Florida, but you can find the 4 of us traveling all over the country in our RV!
